The C-Thru® Separator is a unique, patented unit designed to remove solid and liquid contamination from coolants and cleaners throughout the metalworking and pretreatment industries. Contaminants such as a hydraulic oil, way lube, and rust preventatives continually enter the metal working and cleaning fluids from the machine itself or parts being processed in the application.

Why remove Tramp Oil?
Tramp oils form a scum layer on coolant, providing a perfect breeding ground for bacteria. This reduces the lubrication qualities of the coolant, resulting in excessive tool wear and machined components with a poor surface finish. These reductions in coolant quality can often be responsible for unreliable machining tolerances and reductions in machine efficiency.
Tramp oil is often a cause of skin dermatitis in workshops due to components in machine lubricants being irritating to the skin. It also facilitates the growth of bacteria in coolant, and the resulting odour can make working conditions very unpleasant. Efficient removal of tramp oil is of vital importance in avoiding health issues and maintaining high quality machining performance.

How does the unit perform against competitors when it’s smaller?
Our standard unit is capable of flow rates up to 4.5 gpm which is considerably higher than any competitor in the market place. We even achieve the higher flow rates despite having 75% less volume in our process compared to competitor’s units.
We are able to achieve this phenomenon based on the patented design which is optimally suited for removing oil from water based solutions.
How durable is the C-thru® unit?
The unit is made via injection mold which allows for a seam free product. All threaded fittings on the tank are molded into the tank and supported via bosses and ribs which allow for an extremely durable tank. The tank is so strong it can withstand being dropped 15 feet onto concrete, hit with an 8 pound sledge hammer, and driven over with a 4 tonne truck.
Can I expect the transparent plastic to breakdown due to chemical attack?
The c-thru separator is manufactured via injection mold. This process allows useage of a unique, transparent resin which is resistant to just about any chemical including the following:
